Court of Summary Jurisdiction
22nd June, 18641.
Sin,
In answer to your letter of the 17th instant I beg to state that Mr. Holmes, the Clerk of this Court, informs me that the Bailiff, owing to a large number of Summonses and Warrants he has to serve, is unable to make an early return of the Police and Lighting Rates Warrants as is desirable.
Some time ago I applied to the Government to appoint an Assistant Bailiff, but my application has not been granted. I shall give directions to the Bailiff to serve, with as little delay as possible, the Warrants for Police and Lighting Rates which are in his hands.
The Honorable
I. Forth Esquire
Colonial Treasurer
